I Thought
I thought I had no friends,
And couldn't trust anyone,
But I was wrong!
I've got my friend,
Who convinced me to write poetry.
I've got my friend,
Who said I was the brother she never had.
I've got my friend,
Who convinced me to play drums
I've got my friend,
Who hangs lizards from his ear.
I've got my friend,
Who is wilder than the I am.
I've got my friend,
Who died on the cross for me.
I've got friends,
Who I see everyday
I've got friends,
Whom I rarely ever see.
I've got friends,
Whom I never get to see.
I thought I was a failure
And a loser,
But I'm not!
I won a t-shirt at a book store.
I won a t-shirt on a website.
I was graduated Valedictorian,
In high School.
I got an award,
for the good things I've done,
and was on TV for it.
I may not win every little thing,
but I'm a winner at life! A Four Horsemen-less New Years
Due to a broken tradition.
Every year since we’ve been friends,
We’ve spent New Years together.
This year though,
One is going to Cali,
Another is in the Army,
Two are left behind,
Who never talk on the phone.
The one in the Army may come home,
But he may not.
Oh well, no fireworks,
No nachos, or loud music,
Such is life.
Hook, Line and Sinker
When she broke up you were there.
When he broke up I was there.
The gas station,
The restaurant,
We realized something was there.
We could no longer hold it back.
I guess you could say,
Love found a way.
You caught me,
Hook, line and sinker Perfect Relationship, Imperfect Lives
Our relationship seems perfect,
But our lives don't.
The secrets we've shared,
About our lives,
Show we're not perfect.
I still love you,
And I always will,
No matter what happens,
Just like God does.
We're only human after all.
Remember if you stumble and fall,
I will catch you.
